Congratulations to the winners of the Voorheesville Short Story Contest! The theme of this year’s contest was “A Roll of the Dice,” and these five stories took the theme and interpreted it in compelling and surprising ways.
The winners are:
- First Place ($500): Ally Sapienza ’23, “I Will Always Remember”
- Second Place ($300): Sadie Dowd ’23, “The Middle”
- Third Place ($100): Katarina Hrazdina ’23, “Wolf’s Den”
- Runner-Up ($50): Ilian Medarov ’24, “The Price of Luck”
- Runner-Up ($50): Caroline Dolin ’24, “Rumor”
All ten finalists’ stories will be published on our site starting Monday, and the the top three stories will be published in the Spring 2023 issue of The Blackbird Review. The spring edition will be out in June, and can be purchased from our online store.
