I’ll say we outgrew it
Like our whole friendship was clothes
That’s not true there was no we, only you
I cling to clothes, relationships too
I won’t get rid of them until I’m absolutely certain that they won’t do
To you I’m an old t-shirt that you outgrew
Gross, over used and definitely not cool
So you threw me out, replaced me with something new
I had wanted to be a better shirt, surely five holes could do?
It wasn’t enough, and now I’m certain I’m just simply something you outgrew
