Whirlpool

Life is a whirlpool.

It may start filled with hope, or set you on a path of despair.

You can try to walk or go straight to a run.

But no matter where you go or what you do,

Life will suck you into its darkness and churn you around like the depths of a whirlpool.

As you journey through this miraculous place we call life,

You may feel the warm grace of the everlasting sun.

This light will bestow you with a false sense of optimism,

Which can be replaced with the darkness that comes with absolute pessimism.

Regardless, life will suck you into its darkness and churn you around like the depths of a whirlpool

But with every bright sunrise reflecting off the ocean’s surface,

There is a dark emptiness that showers everything with despair.

And this darkness will suck you in without mercy.

Pulling you down into the deepest depths of the ocean,

Where every sliver of light is devoured by the remoteness of the ocean floor.

But when you are at your lowest without a single ray of hope,

The ever-spinning whirlpool will come to a stop.

And as you slowly float to the surface, as lifeless as the ocean floor,

The ocean becomes calm, and you realize what lies before you.

Not the dark abyss that once engulfed you, for the whirlpool has passed.

But a vast ocean of possibilities that seems to have no end.
